When visitors leave comments on this website I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Computers and other devices I use are password protected where possible and kept in secure premises while at rest. Computers are password protected when unattended. Some data, for example email data, is stored on suitably secure servers with reputable companies who are are also committed to your privacy and security. Data is moved offline, deleted or archived at regular intervals as deemed necessary.
How long I retain your data
I retain your personal data no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The exact length of time may vary, but I will retain your personal data for the shortest time possible. This period of data retention is under regular review.
If you leave a comment on this website, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
